Tasting Notes
Clancy's Blend is a firm favourite with lovers of good red wine. Peter Lehman's crafted a firm backbone out of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, totting up the Cuvee with a dash of Merlot and Cabernet Franc to fashion a rich yet soft and approachable red. Clancy has claimed Gold against all comers at the London International, and Wine Spectator has listed Clancy in it's prestigious Top 100 on no less than four occasions. "Readers looking for realistic wine values should check out this offering from Peter Lehmann!" -eRobertparker.com
Barossa

From one of the finest Barossa vintages on record, Clancy's continues the tradition of Lehmann excellence. Selected fruit from good Barossa vineyards, some of which have been supplying grapes to Peter Lehmann for decades, and others which have been growing wine grapes for generations. Good wine can only be made from good grapes and Peter Lehmann's friendship with his growers is reflected in the quality of the fruit. A blend of 35% Shiraz, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Fermented on skins for seven days. Following clarification and assemblage, Clancy was treated to twelve months maturation under a combination of new and old American/ French oak hogsheads. Alcohol 14.5%
A wonderful melange of plum and pepper, violets and black currant, minted spice notes and black olive. Unmistakeably Barossa, with a wonderful richness of delicious forest fruits on the palate. It has good structure and weight, beautifully integrated oak and finishes firm with fine grained tannins. A wine which offers immediate enjoyment. Always a friendly wine, Clancy's is ideal at a barbeque, and perfect with all good cuisine. "Think ripe plums, tar, blackcurrant jam with a undercurrent of leafiness. Not subtle, but it offers bang for the buck and hard to beat!" -theWiningpro.com, "Plum, cherry and cassis scents, bitter cherry and dark plum flavors. Serve this with grilled lamb!' -Stephen Tanzer's
