Tasting Notes

Arakoon is a small family owned winery using traditional winemaking methods with open vat fermentation and a manual basket press. They have been producing premium wine since 1999 and have acheived a name as a producer of big, fruit driven wines.

Robert Parker Jnr. absolutely raved about Arakoon Sellicks Beach Shiraz and here is why:- Complex beyond its' price, this is a powerful wine wholly saturated with black fruits. Very ripe fruit underwent extended maceration prior to a gentle squeeze in a hand operated basket press. Maturation occurred in a mix of new and old French and American oak. The palate is opulent and full with tannins that run through the length of the palate and dominate the finish. Wow!
